EPA Announces Start of Hudson River Dredging

(Fort Edward, N.Y. – May 14, 2009)  On Friday, May 15, 2009, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will host a ceremony to mark the official start of dredging of PCBs from the Upper Hudson River.  Federal, state and local officials and a broad group of community representatives and environmental stakeholders will be at the river’s edge in Fort Edward to witness the historic startup of the Hudson River PCBs dredging project.

When:                           Friday, May 15, 2009 from 11:00 – 11:30 am

                                    (Please arrive by 10:40 am to allow enough time to park and walk to ceremony location)

 

Where:                          Georgia Pacific, Mill Site Road

                                    Fort Edward, N.Y.  12828

 

Directions:

From 1-87 North, Exit at 17N.  Merge onto Saratoga Road, US-9.  Turn right at NY-197 (Reynolds Road).  Turn right at Country RTE-29 (West River Road).  Turn left at Mill Site Road.  Proceed to designated parking area.  

NOTE: This is a construction site, so no open-toed shoes should be worn.
