EPA Region 7 Administrator Karl Brooks said, "It's always a pleasure to help Kansas communities better protect their water resources. These EPA funds will dramatically increase Pottawatomie County’s capacity to protect water quality and public health."
The purpose of the project is to provide adequate wastewater facilities for existing and future growth in the southwest corner of Pottawatomie County. The project will eliminate three pump stations and construct approximately 14,000 feet of sewer pipelines.
EPA oversees the protection of water quality and public health. The Agency is working with community leaders and the public to meet the growing needs and demands of our limited water resources. EPA remains committed to developing innovative and sustainable solutions for managing and financing infrastructure with public and private partners.
