EPA to Host Brownfields Workshops for 2011 Grant Competition

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Individuals from local, state, and tribal governments; non-profits; coalitions; land clearance authorities; and quasi-governmental entities interested in brownfields assessment, cleanup or revolving loan fund grants.
WHEN AND WHERE: Tuesday, April 27, Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, 2717 South 8th St., Lincoln, Neb., 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 4, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Roaring River Conference Room, 1730 East Elm St., Jefferson City, Mo., 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 12, Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 300 East 9th Street (I-80 at Exit 242), Coralville, Iowa, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Monday, May 17, Curtis State Office Building, 1000 SW Jackson St., Suite 530, Topeka, Kan., 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
At the conclusion of each workshop, attendees will be able to participate in scheduled 15-minute individual consultations. Consultations must be scheduled at the time of workshop registration.

WEBINAR: Real-time webinars will be available for individuals who cannot attend the workshops in person. Registration, high speed internet access and a telephone are necessary to participate.

Additional workshops will be held later in the year to provide information about Brownfields proposal guidelines and changes to the 2011 guidelines.
Brownfields are properties where expansion, redevelopment, or reuse may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of hazardous substances, pollutants, contaminants, controlled substances, petroleum or petroleum products or mine-scarred lands.
