Media Advisory: Cleanup of Kinnickinnic River begins

(Chicago, Ill. - June 1, 2009) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will host an event Wednesday, June 3, to kick off the start of the $22 million cleanup of the Kinnickinnic River under the Great Lakes Legacy Act

WHAT: Event and photo-op to mark the start of the cleanup of the Kinnickinnic River.  Photographers will have a clear view of dredging equipment in the river.

WHEN: Wednesday, June 3, at 10 a.m.

WHO: Gary Gulezian, Director, U.S. EPA Great Lakes National Program Office; Matthew Frank, Secretary, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; and representatives of Business Improvement District 35, City of Milwaukee, Port of Milwaukee and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

WHERE: Commercial Heat Treating, Inc. riverfront property, 1952 South First Street, Milwaukee.

Directions from downtown Milwaukee: Head east on US-18/W. Wells St., turn right at S. 1st St./WI-32, continue south until the north side of 1st St. Bridge. Commercial Heat Treating, Inc., is on the east side of the street.
