EPA to Recognize the Coalition to Prevent Lead Poisoning for
Major Environmental Achievements

(Rochester, N.Y. – July 20, 2010) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) will formally present its distinguished Environmental Justice Achievement Award to the Coalition to Prevent Lead Poisoning for its leadership in community-based efforts to prevent childhood lead poisoning in the city of Rochester, New York. EPA’s top regional official will travel to Rochester for the award presentation along with other dignitaries. The Coalition to Prevent Lead Poisoning includes five key community partners—the City of Rochester, Empire Justice Center, Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency, Monroe County Department of Public Health, and the University of Rochester.
