Grants News Release (Region 6):

  EPA Seeking Nominations for Awards that Recognize Outstanding Clean Air Programs

 (DALLAS – July 22, 2011)  To help recognize some of the most innovative and successful programs projects and technologies that reduce pollution and achieve cleaner air around the United States, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is accepting applications for the 12th Annual Clean Air Excellence Awards Program.  The Clean Air Excellence Awards give national-level recognition to individuals and organizations that develop exceptional projects that help make the air healthier for everyone.

 

Applications are judged on five awards categories: (1) Clean Air Technology; (2) Community Action; (3) Education/Outreach; (4) Regulatory/Policy Innovations; and (5) Transportation Efficiency Innovations.  In addition to the five award categories, the Clean Air Excellence Award Program will recognize two special award categories:  the Gregg Cooke Visionary Program Award, which recognizes an applicant that successfully blends two or more of the existing award categories, and the Thomas W. Zosel Outstanding Individual Achievement Award, which recognizes one individual for their outstanding achievement, leadership and commitment to promote clean air and achieve better air quality.
