Federal, State and Local Officials to Mark Progress Made at Imperial Oil Superfund Site

(New York, N.Y. – Nov. 20, 2009) On Monday, November 23, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be joined by federal, state and local officials as they note important progress in the cleanup of the Imperial Oil Superfund site in Morganville, New Jersey. EPA announced in April that the site had received an infusion of $25 million in new funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to accelerate the hazardous waste cleanup already underway at the site.

Directions: NJ Turnpike South to Exit 11. Get on the Garden State Parkway South ramp. Cross over the Driscoll Bridge and stay on the right lanes to take local exits after paying toll. Take the Garden State Parkway South to Exit 117A - Aberdeen. Make a right at exit ramp on to Lloyd Ave. Continue for about 2 miles until junction with 79 South. Make a left into 79. At first light make a right into Tennent Rd and then right into Orchard Place. Site entrance is at the end of Orchard Place.
