(ATLANTA – Mar. 26, 2010) On Monday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will join the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority (KIA) to recognize a $4.17 million project funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 in Louisville, Ky. The I-64 pipeline project will fund much-need improvements in water service for existing Louisville Water Company customers and expand service to Eastern Jefferson County, Shelby County and Frankfort.

 

President Obama signed the ARRA on Feb. 17, 2009, and has directed that the Recovery Act be implemented with unprecedented transparency and accountability. To that end, the American people can see how every dollar is being invested at Recovery.gov.

Directions: From I-64, take the Gene Snyder Freeway, North Shelbyville Road Exit. Go east on Shelbyville Road. Turn right at the second light onto South English Station Road (across from Lake Forest subdivision). Go past Christian Academy school, and the event site will be on the right. Look for Louisville Water Company crews with parking instructions.
