EPA Regional Administrator to Speak at the Sixth Annual GIPPY Awards

ATLANTA – On Thursday, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 4 Administrator Gwen Keyes Fleming will be the keynote speaker at the Sixth Annual GIPPY Awards Ceremony in Atlanta, Ga.  The GIPPY’s honor congregations that have shown creativity and determination in incorporating creation care into all aspects of congregational life.

The ceremony will be hosted by St. Luke’s Episcopal Church located at 435 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA at 7:00 p.m.

Georgia Interfaith Power & Light (GIPL), a non-profit organization that engages communities of faith in stewardship of God's Creation.  GIPL established the GIPPY Awards in 2006 as a way to celebrate the accomplishments that congregations were making in incorporating creation care into their faith community.  GIPL has also received an EPA Partner Award for its work with Georgia congregations, and the organization’s latest program—Power Wise—is nationally recognized for its innovative approach to saving energy.
